Scribe Video Center presents the 28th annual year of Street Movies! This film screening and performance series tours outdoor community spaces across Philadelphia every August with a program of independent short films from local, national, and international filmmakers, curated in partnership with neighborhood-based organizations. All events are family-friendly and open to the public.
On Sunday, August 10th, join us for a free outdoor screening, poetry reading, and discussion in partnership with the Friends of FDR Park, cinéSPEAK and PAAFF with vendors by the Southeast Asian Market in FDR Park!

If traveling by car, we recommend navigating to 1900 Pattison Avenue and using the entrance at 20th and Pattison Avenue to pull in and park. Parking will be available on either side of the lawn.

The Market - Pennsylvania: The journey to the Southeast Asian Market in south Philadelphia’s FDR Park, founded by refugees who carved out their own space of nourishment and belonging.
We Were the Scenery dir. Christopher Radcliff (2025, USA, 15 min)
In 1975, Hoa Thi Le and Hue Nguyen Che fled from Vietnam by boat and docked in the Philippines, where they were utilized as background extras during the filming of Apocalypse Now.
SHATTERED MEMORY dir. Hayat Laban (2024, Palestine, 14 min)
Dig through photojournalist Mahfouz Abu Turk’s memories and archives, where he thoroughly documented his experiences in Jerusalem and the West Bank from the First Intifada in 1987 throughout the next decade.
SUDDENLY TV dir. Roopa Gogineni (2022, Sudan, Qatar, 19 min)
A group of young revolutionaries creates an imaginary television station at a besieged sit-in. What begins as play becomes an urgent conjuring of a new Sudan.
